Real I.S. renews rental agreement with Bayernwerk Netz GmbH in Regensburg

Bayernwerk Netz GmbH maintains its headquarters in Regensburg. The company has prematurely renewed the existing rental agreement with Real I.S. AG for a period of five years. The office complex consists of around 28,400 sq m of rental space as well as 600 parking spaces and forms part of the closed-ended Bayernfonds Deutschland 21 private fund.

The property that was originally built to house the head office of the then E.ON Bayern AG was completed in 2011 and offers space for around 1,000 employees. Designed as a green building, the property was already awarded a Gold preliminary certificate by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Nachhaltiges Bauen (DGNB) during the planning phase and has recently had the platinum certificate conferred on it. Along with conversion to parts of the existing office space, an expansive charging infrastructure for e-vehicles and a contemporary café bar were installed as part of renewing the rental Agreement.

The property is located west of Regensburg’s city centre in the Westenviertel on Lilienthalstrasse 7. The Lilienthalstrasse, with its agglomeration of large-scale office buildings, constitutes an established office submarket outside Regensburg City.

The cathedral city of Regensburg is the principal town of the Oberpfalz administrative district and was declared a world heritage site in 2006 by Unesco. The city is the economic and administrative major regional centre of Eastern Bavaria and, with currently around 164,000 inhabitants, is the fourth largest city of the Free State of Bavaria after Munich, Nuremberg and Augsburg.
