Alpha Industrial starts construction work in the port of Hamburg

Logistics park at Vollhöfner Weiden 17
The earthworks for the logistics park at Vollhöfner Weiden 17 in the heart of the port of Hamburg are completed and construction work has started. A first hall with around 15,000 sqm of state-of-the-art logistics spaces and social areas is being built. It will be available to logistics, commerce and production companies from the end of the first quarter of 2018, and offers a direct link to the A7 autobahn with public transport connections on its doorstep. The investor is EPISO 3, a fund managed by Tristan Capital Partners, which acquired the existing building and the land for development in 2016 [we reported].

“In the first part of the building, we are creating two flexible units with 5,500 m² and 7,500 m² respectively of purely logistics space and a clear height of 12.20 metres. These will be ready for occupancy at the end of the first quarter of 2018,” said Mirko Eickhoff, Project and Asset Manager at the real estate company Alpha Industrial, which is in charge of project management. The property consulting companies BNP Paribas Real Estate and CBRE have been exclusively engaged to market the new space.

After Hall 1 has been fully let, the second phase will see the construction of two further halls to be completed in the first quarter of 2019. Hall 2 will comprise around 12,000 sqm and Hall 3 around 5,000 sqm of logistics, mezzanine and office space.
