Christie's International Real Estate expands presence to the Algarve

Luximo’s, Christie’s International Real Estate’s exclusive brokerage in Porto, Portugal and its northern enclaves, has expanded its affiliation to include the Algarve - the southernmost region in Portugal. The region is popular amongst high net worth individuals who purchase luxury homes in the golden triangle of Quinta do Lago, Vale do Lobo and Vilamoura.

“Portugal’s Algarve region is an important luxury market with its beautiful estates and enviable lifestyle, which increasingly attracts a global clientele of buyers,” says Dan Conn, CEO of Christie’s International Real Estate. “Luximo’s has been our valued partner in the north of Portugal since 2013. By expanding the company’s territory south, Luximo’s will now offer the Algarve region the high level of service commensurate with the Christie’s brand.”

The new office in Vilamoura Marina, with 20 luxury agents, builds on the success of Luximo’s Porto office in north Portugal, covering the Costa Verde, Gerés, Ponte de Lima and the Douro Valley (well known for its Port Wine vineyards.) This new expansion also represents a twofold increase in the company’s presence in Portugal.

The Algarve attracts holiday visitors and property buyers from Britain, Ireland, France, Germany, The Netherlands and further afield. Incentives such as the Golden Visa and Non-Habitual Resident Programme have also boosted the Portuguese economy while new start-up companies have sprung up across the country.

The Algarve is serviced by Faro Airport which provides quick and direct flights to major cities in Europe including London (2hr 50 minutes) and Paris (2hrs 40 minutes). The Algarve’s beaches are highly prized having won numerous awards, while its untouched fishing villages and first class golf courses continue to attract an international crowd.
