MCIM is a UK real estate investment management business and a member of Swiss Life Asset Managers. It has £1.84bn of assets under management. James Thornton jointly founded the company in 2002 having previously worked in investment management with JLL and Savills. The business originally focussed on private clients but soon grew with a bespoke fund for charities, the Property Income Trust for Charities. In 2010 Robert Palmer joined the business to run a fund on behalf of Schroders Real Estate Capital Partners, a fund that has grown to £360 million today. In 2015 Jupiter Asset Management appointed Mayfair Capital to run a fund for its Merlin range of funds whilst the business has been involved in providing mezzanine finance to residential developers. In 2018 MCIM was appointed by Cadogan Estate to create a diversified income fund with capacity up to £500m over a 3 to 4 year period.

Following the sale of the business to Swiss Life in 2016, capital has been made available to the Mayfair Capital Thematic Growth Fund, MCR2 a mezzanine debt Fund and also the Thematic Income and Growth Fund (TIGR) which is a pan European fund managed from London. The business has also invested in the UK and Ireland on behalf of the CH Pan European Properties Fund, a fund managed from Zurich on behalf of swiss investors. Mayfair Capital adopts a highly thematic investment approach in devising strategies for its clients whilst ESG is embedded in the investment management process and asset management.
