Apleona GVA take over retail mandates for shopping centres

Apleona GVA won contracts for consultancy services, letting, and property management for retail projects and for specialist retailers in Turkey with a combined size of 80,000 m² in sales space. As part of these mandates, the real estate services provider will prepare the concept for the future tenant structure of three shopping centres that are currently in construction, and will moreover be responsible for leasing out the retail areas. The three projects concerned are the Bursa Nilüfer Park Arena in Bursa in north-western Turkey, which is scheduled to be completed at the end of 2017, and the Köy Zekeriyaköy in Istanbul, a mixed-use complex combining residential apartments with 15,000 m² of sales space. The third – and largest – project is the Rize Shopping Centre located in the North-East in Rize on the Black Sea coast.

The construction work on the Rize shopping centre, which will be the first large retail complex in the city, began in late 2016 on the site of the former stadium located in downtown Rize. The planning by the local investor and project developer, Rize Insaat Yatirim Sanayi, calls for the Rize Shopping Centre to house 120 retail outlets with a total sales space of 32,000 m², a cinema complex with eleven screens, a supermarket, as well as residential units and entertainment facilities. At present, Apleona GVA is responsible for preparing the concept for the retail spaces and for leasing them out; following the completion of the centre in 2019, the retail services provider will also take on the property management and centre management tasks.

Besides these contracts for the projects under construction, Apleona GVA has been managing two specialist retailers since February of this year; they were completed in 2008 and form part of the real estate portfolio owned by Union Investment. The properties are located in Izmir on the Aegean coast and in Istanbul; together, they have a size of around 13,000 m². Both of them have been leased out in their entirety to the electronics retailer Mediamarkt.
