Vienna International Airport: 4.1% increase in passengers during January 2010
The number of passengers handled at Vienna International Airport rose by 4.1% year-onyear to 1,202,594 in January 2010.
Flight movements declined 2.7%, while maximum take-off weight (MTOW) increased by 1.0% and cargo by 30.8%. The number of local passengers rose by 4.7% to 825,660, while transfer traffic increased 3.3% in comparison with January 2009.
Passenger traffic to Eastern Europe (scheduled and charter flights) was 0.7% higher than in January 2009. The number of passengers travelling to Western Europe increased 5.0%, and traffic to the Middle East rose by 11.3% during the reporting period.
Flughafen Wien AG is forecasting a slight increase in traffic during 2010 with growth of 2% in the number of passengers and 5% in maximum take-off weight (MTOW) as well as a stable number of flight movements (+/- 0%).
