Vienna: 9% increase in passengers during January 2012
The number of passengers handled by Vienna Airport rose by 9% year-on-year to 1,397,711 in January 2012. Declines were recorded in maximum take-off weight with minus 4.5%, flight movements with minus 2.7% and cargo with minus 10.1%. In contrast, the number of transfer passengers increased 19.4% over January 2011.
Passenger traffic to Eastern Europe was 26.1% higher than the comparable prior year period. The number of passengers travelling to Western Europe and the Middle East rose by 6.5% and 5.8%, respectively.
