The Montenegrin real estate has to be eco-responsible

Being the first country to have included the protection of the environment in its constitution, Montenegro has experienced a significant tourism and real estate development, which one can fear to be to the expense of its ecology. However, some developers are anxious to preserve the environment of the beautiful country where they are operating. For example, the developer Catareos is one of the very few, if not the only developer in the country, which complies with sustainable development. Its current project, Tivat Heights, consisting of 12 apartments overlooking the Bay of Tivat, have been conceived and designed with environment protection always in mind.

Located in the heart of the Balkan Peninsula, Montenegro is becoming a fashionable destination. Indeed, the country got its independence May 21, 2006. It features a generous nature (40% of forests and four national parks), a marvelous coast line (117 beaches over about 300 miles) and a rich history (Greco-Roman influences, Venetian and Turkish).

Everything suggests that the development of its tourism industry is far from complete: one of the highest tourist development rates in the world (according to the World Travel & Tourism Council), relatively affordable destination, rapid growth of the housing stock, centrally located in Europe, without forgetting the construction of one of the most luxurious marinas in Europe in the Bay of Tivat. This explains the enthusiasm of new investors for the luxury segment.

Unfortunately, the real estate sector in some of the coastal cities like Budva and Bar has evolved disproportionately in recent years. The Bay of Kotor, because it is protected by the UNESCO and thanks to the presence of eco-responsible developers, should break away from such a development.

Catareos, environmentally responsible developer based in Tivat, commercialises exceptional apartments in the Bay of Kotor. According to Carine Hitchcock, director of the company: "The Bay of Kotor is a sublime site protected by UNESCO. Unfortunately, this protection has not always prevented construction disrespectful of the environment. As the Montenegrin authorities can not keep watch on every single building project, I believe it is every developer who has to take on its own institutional responsibility. I think it is important to be environmentally responsible when you are an actor of real estate development, especially in such a wonderful and unspoilt country as Montenegro..."

The current project, Tivat Heights, features 12 eco-luxury apartments of 90 m² with spacious terraces, gardens and pool. Among the eco-friendly features and materials used to build these prestigious apartments, will be solar panels, heat pumps and other construction materials respecting the environment. Overlooking the bay of Tivat, these charming residences in California style undoubtedly represent a very profitable investment in time, considering the potential for developing in this region.
