PNK Group to launch plant Liotech in Novosibirsk
Anatoliy Chubays launches the world largest innovation lithium-ion battery plant Liotech with an area of 40,000 m², built by PNK Group under the order of the state corporation Rosnano and Chinese corporation Thunder Sky in Novosibirsk. The opening ceremony was attended by Head of Rosnano Anatoliy Chubays, Head of Thunder Sky in Russia Steve Lu, General director of Liotech LTD Aleksander Erokhin, Executive director of PNK Group Oleg Mamaev and representatives of Novosibirsk administration.
Liotech plant started the production of lithium-ion batteries for electric transport and energy industry. Thanks to the unique technology their technical characteristics, energy capacity and speed of recharge in particular, considerably surpass foreign counterparts. According to Anatoliy Chubays the plant is scheduled to reach its full annual capacity of 400 mln ampere per hour in the second part of 2013. Total investments in this company comprise 14 bln rubles, while the share of Rosnano in it accounts for 7.59 bln rubles. The sales volume of the plant in 2012 is predicted to be around 9 – 10 bln rubles, and by 2015 it can reach 35 – 40 bln rubles. “As far as our plans in the world market are concerned, we are aiming at the company’s share of 10-15 % on the assumption of fulfillment of our development plans”, - said the head of Rosnano, pointing out that the plant built by PNK Group is only the first part of the project.
