Neinver outlet centres' sales increased 12% in Europe
Neinver finished 2011 with increases in visits and sales at all its centres. Sales figures at the thirteen outlet centres that Neinver manages in Europe rose 12% compared to 2010, and visitors was also up: 7.6% more visits than in 2010, reaching a total of 33 million.
The solid year-end figures for the centres managed by Neinver in Italy, Germany, Spain, Portugal and Poland strength the outlet concept in Europe. The centre in Germany leads the positive results in both visits and sales, recording double-digit increases in each. In terms of sales increases, it is followed by Italy, with two centres, Spain with five, Poland with four and Portugal with one.
Germany
Germany was the country with the strongest growth in 2011, both in the number of visits and in sales. Zweibrücken The Style Outlets welcomed 3.3 million visitors in 2011, nearly 25% more than the previous year, and its sales expanded by no less than 20%.
In late 2010, the company opened phase 4 of the centre, expanding to 125 shops and 30,300 m² of GLA. Through this expansion, Zweibrücken The Style Outlets became the largest outlet centre in the country.
Spain
In Spain, Neinver's five centres recorded 12.5 million visitors in 2011, a 5.2% increase over the previous year. More importantly, their sales rose by 12.5%, which is especially meaningful given the current state of the economy.
Italy
The two centres in Italy, Vicolungo The Style Outlets and Castel Guelfo The Style Outlets, continue to strengthen their sales and foot traffic figures. Sales grew by 13% in 2011, and the centres' visitor count passed the 6.3 million mark, a 5.6% rise.
Portugal
Vila do Conde The Style Outlets, with 28,750 m² of GLA and 137 shops after its expansion in December 2010, recorded an 8.6% sales increase in 2011. It also received 3.6 million visits, up 2.2% from 2010.
Poland
Poland is unquestionably still a key country for Neinver, where the company has been doing business for more than 10 years and continues to develop projects. The Polish outlet centres received more than 7 million visits in 2011, up 13% from 2010, and sales rose by 10%. These centres are progressing well, with foot traffic increasing each year in a market where outlets are the preferred retail option for many shoppers.
Factory Krakow was opened last October becoming the fourth Neinver outlet centre in Poland as part of a larger retail park.
