NCC to construct two office buildings in Lillehammer

NCC Construction in Norway has secured an assignment to construct two office buildings in the Municipality of Lillehammer in Norway. The customer is Rosenlund Bydelssenter AS. The order is worth about SEK 350 million and will be registered in the third quarter of 2012.

The project comprises two five-story office buildings, of which one will be constructed to achieve an energy classification of A and the other at least an energy classification of B, with the option of also being constructed withan energy classification of A.

Floor space will total 21,000 square meters, including 6,000 square meters of underground parking divided among two floors.

“The project’s stringent environmental requirements suit us well since we have accumulated solid skills in the area. Among other actions, we will drill up to 50 energy wells with heat pumps to supply the building with heating,” says Thomas Rostøl, District Manager at NCC Construction Norway. Virtual design and construction (VDC) played a key role in the tender process and will be deployed throughout the project.

Construction will commence in August 2012 and is scheduled for completion by July 2014.
