Multi signed retail agency agreements with JLL and C&W
Multi Development Poland Sp. z o.o. signed with Jones Lang LaSalle and Cushman & Wakefield the Retail Agency Agreements for the Letting of Premises in the Forum Radunia Shopping Centre in Gdańsk.
Multi Development Poland decision to involve Jones Lang LaSalle team into the project was inter alia a result of former cooperation with the company on a previous project – Forum Koszalin - which became a commercial success. Multi also started cooperation with Cushman & Wakefield, a renowned company with a strong market position, whose participation in the project will ensure the competitiveness of letting solutions, what will constitute an added value for the project. Meaningful are also multiple achievements of both companies in the scope of advising, often awarded with prestigious titles on the European market.
Cooperation with Jones Lang LaSalle within our previous project was very smooth, so I count on our mutual relations reinforcement during realization of this exceptional Forum Radunia project. Whilst, together with Cushman & Wakefield we used to achieve successes with our other European projects and I am convinced that rich experience of this company will contribute to the advantage of our unique investment which is a compilation of traditional innercity architecture with innovative solutions of nowadays market – adds Małgorzata Słowik, Head Leasing Multi.
We are delighted with the opportunity to work on this flagship project of Forum Radunia. We think that the project will bring new quality to the retail environment in Gdańsk and the wider Tri-City area and will effectively create new public space where residents can socialize in addition to shopping. This is due to a blend of factors such as a landmark location in the heart of Gdańsk, which can also capitalize on a strong tourist flow to the region, and its unique concept including a combination of a closed shopping centre and an open area with a place for outdoor cultural activities for local community. An extensive leisure and catering offer as well as an inclusion of the Gdańsk Historic Heritage Museum within the project will enhance its capturing power, said Beatrice Mouton, Head of Retail in Central and Eastern Europe, Jones Lang LaSalle.
„Forum Radunia is a project combining commercial functions with a significant infrastructural investment, which will revitalize and redefine the very centre of Gdansk. The project will substantially change and diversify the retail offer of the region. It is one of the most interesting projects in Europe,“ said Mark Noetzel, Partner from the global real estate services firm Cushman & Wakefield, responsible for the commercialization of Forum Radunia.
The Forum Radunia investment, is located in the very heart of historical Gdańsk, having 456,000 inhabitants. Forum Radunia is to become a new large-scale centre of Gdańsk, a direct extension of the existing historical city integrating historical Gdansk with the rest of the inner city and its administrative part. Due to its central location it will provide direct access through the Integration Hub in Armii Krajowej Street to the planned new bus and tram stops as well as the new stop of the Fast Urban Railway.
The main goal of the development is to revitalize and strengthen the inner-city of Gdańsk by creating a multifunctional downtown city centre, connecting retail, entertainment, culture, services and office space as well as a car park accessible for public. The Concept, by Multi’s in-house architectural design company T+T Design, recovers historical urban lines and integrates the monumental Radunia Canal. T+T Design’s plan is based on a combination and integration of individual buildings, streets and squares, all developed with the high quality that Multi’s inner-city projects are known for.
A crucial part of the whole investment is to also accomplish the public objectives; such as construction of Gdańsk Historic Heritage Museum Building, development and modernization of technical and road infrastructure and construction of Nowe Podwale Grodzkie street. In the first stage of construction (scheduled to accomplish in 2015/2016) the platform over the railway tracks with multi-storey car park accessible for public and a Shopping Center with leasable area of ca. 52,000 sq m will be realized and simultaneously the public works will be conducted including museum building, roads and other infrastructure. The second phase encompasses the construction of an office park above the railway (realization till 2020).
