Multi Development to realize inner city project in Bad Kreuznach
Multi Development Germany is about to realize a €70m project in Bad Kreuznach. The mixed-use area in the town with its 44,000 inhabitants, located southwest of Frankfurt, is part of a program to rejuvenate the inner city. The project area comprises 15,000 square meters and will include space for gastronomic activities, retail and other services on the ground level. In the upper storeys, Multi plans to build a total of 50 residential units. Construction shall start in 2014; two years later the buildings will be fully operational, if everything goes according to plan.
An overarching glass roof will connect the seven-building complex. An old parking deck and the building of the regional savings bank will be demolished, as well as the local grammar school’s gym, which will be newly constructed as part of the project. The existing Kaufhof department store will be expanded and the historic city wall will be integrated into the complex. Kaufhof will be one of the project’s retail anchor tenants.
