LaSalle: Distinguished Service Award for Turkish chief
Avi Alkas, Chairman of Jones Lang LaSalle in Turkey has been awarded the a Distinguished Service Award for his work as a Board Member of the International Council of Shopping Center’s (ICSC) ICSC European Advisory Board and the ICSC European and Global Awards Jury.
Avi has been a member of ICSC since 1994 and is currently a faculty member at the ICSC John T. Riordan School for Professional Development. He was the first person in Turkey to have earned professional recognition titles from ICSC gaining his SCSM (Senior Certified Shopping Center Manager), SCMD (Senior Certified Marketing Director) and CLS (Certified Leasing Specialist) certifications.
Marcus Wild, ICSC European Chairman and CEO SES Spar European Shopping Centers said: “This recognition is well deserved. Avi has already done so much and is continuing to work hard on behalf of the industry. His next role is Certification Chair for ICSC. He will be working to increase the numbers of European professionals getting ICSC professional certification as mall managers, marketing directors, leasing specialist and certified construction and development professionals.
Avi was one of just four shopping centre professionals to receive such an award at ICSC’s ReCon, the Global Retail Real Estate convention being held in Las Vegas, Nevada, US.
“Avi has tirelessly given back to the industry and enhanced the quality of our organisation through his work with ICSC,” said Michael Kercheval, president and chief executive officer for ICSC.
