City of Belgrade support the Serbia Green Building Expo and Conference
The regional green building Expo and Conference, which will be held from the 23rd to the 25th February in Belekspo center in New Belgrade, got the official support of the City of Belgrade, as it was announced by the organizers on Thursday.
The City of Belgrade has a long term determination for further development based on the principles of sustainability, and, in order to bring a better life quality for its citizens, the City of Belgrade gives full support to the international Green Building Expo and conference - says Mr. Dragan Djilas, the Mayor of the city of Belgrade, in his letter of support.
The President of the Serbia Green Building Council, Ms. Marija Golubovic said she was pleased because of the fact that the city of Belgrade has recognized the efforts made in order to inform and educate professionals in the field of green building that is „the future of the construction industry.“
This event is classified among the most important ones in Europe for the first quarter of 2012 by the World Green Building Council.
Star of the event will certainly be Jerry Yudelson from the United States, often referred to as the „Godfather of green“, one of the pioneers of LEED standards, the author of dozens of books and lecturer best known green building industry - said Marija Golubovic, President of the Serbia Green Building Council.
The idea of the conference is to find representatives of all international standards of green building at one place, which is rare anywhere in the world. In that way, the audience from Serbia and the region will become familiar with the green standards that come from Britain, Germany, France and the United States, which are applied worldwide, said in Serbia Green Building Council.
BREEAM standard of green building will feature Terence Beckett from the UK, Bruno Mesureur from France will present the HQE standard, Alexander Rudolphi from Germany will speak on DGNB standard, and the international standard of LEED green building will feature the U.S. Jennivine Kwan, Vice president, „USGBC International“.
