A&M appoints Robin Priest as Senior Advisor
Alvarez & Marsal is adding to its European Real Estate Advisory Service capabilities with the appointment of Robin Priest as a Senior Advisor. A&M has bolstered its London-based real estate team with a series of senior appointments over the last year. The continuing challenging conditions in the European real estate markets, coupled with the impending wall of real estate debt maturities, mean there is an even greater need for advisers with the experience and operational skills to assist creditors and debtors to navigate these difficulties.
Mr. Priest brings more than 30 years of experience in real estate and structured finance and his primary focus at A&M will be on working with the firm's European real estate clients, deploying his vast experience to challenging and complex assets, portfolios or businesses. Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Priest spent four years with Deloitte LLP as lead partner for Real Estate Corporate Finance in London. Before joining Deloitte in 2005, Mr. Priest set up a new property outsourcing business in the U.K. - Mapeley - in conjunction with Soros Real Estate Partners and Fortress Investment Group.
He remains Chairman of Property Alliance Group and Alliance Property Asset Management. Mr. Priest's appointment follows those of Ian Morgan in December last year and Patrick Anderson and Caspar Vredenbregt earlier in 2011. All four senior individuals have significant real estate advisory experience across Europe.
„I decided to join A&M as the firm has an in-depth knowledge of the real estate and financial services sectors married to a results orientated approach. I look forward to helping our clients work through the current challenging market conditions and also to take advantage of the opportunities presented by the comprehensive restructuring of the European real estate sector, which is now firmly in play.“
Michael Camp, Global Leader of A&M's Real Estate Advisory Services group, added: „Although bricks and mortar are tangible assets, commercial property is a complex business. Banks are looking to A&M for the high-level expertise and industry knowledge needed to help them through the refinancing bubble coming in 2013 and the maturing of commercial mortgage-backed securities in 2015. We are delighted to welcome Robin to A&M - his proven track record and experience in real estate will significantly boost our expertise in the sector.“
