A multiplex cinema for the Sarajevo Airport Centre

Airport Center Sarajevo
The Sarajevo Airport Centre (ACS), which will be built directly by the airport and exactly opposite the former Olympic Games village in the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, acquires apart from the 30,800 sq m retail space additional 3,000 sq m large cinema with seven to nine halls. Sixty percent of the retail space has already been rented, and the construction works of the ACS are planned to begin in early 2012, while the opening is expected in 2013.

“We have recently expanded the project and are going to build additional 3,000 sq m large Multiplex Cinema on the roof of the Airport Centre, which is accessible from the Gastronomic area through an escalator. It will comprise of seven to nine cinema halls and great interest in it has already been recorded”, explains Mag. Michael Böck, who is, along with Mag. Franz P. Kus, the spokesperson for the Austrian investment group IPD/Karimpol which is the company building the ACS. “We are currently negotiating with two potential cinema distributors”.

Currently, the lease rate is at some 60 percent and we already have a range of major international and local brands on board: Zara, Bershka, Stradivarius and Pull&Bear are the four fashion brands of the Spanish Inditex group which will open their stores in the Sarajevo Airport Centre. „Along with them come some other fashion brands such as New Yorker (Germany), Oviesse (Italy), the Delhaize supermarket (Belgium) and Sport Life for all things related to sports (B&H)“, explains Böck further.

Quite advanced are the lease negotiations with Peek & Cloppenburg (P&C), the drugstore chain dm, the shoe retailer Deichmann, the Swedish fashion brand Lindex, the German textile specialist Takko and with the fashion chain Tom Taylor. “We expect to sign the contracts practically any day now”, says Böck, who is supported in the lease negotiations by the Austrian company for project development and real estate Krammer + Wagner Projektentwicklung und Immobilien GmbH. The construction works for the Sarajevo Airport Centre are planned for the beginning of 2012 and its opening for 2013.
